Lord, your word says that “all who rely on works of the law are under a curse…” I recognize in myself the temptation to rely on my own accomplishments to justify myself before you, before others, before myself. Forgive me and cleanse me from this unrighteous self-righteousness!
Thank you that Christ took upon himself the curse for my sin of attempting to display myself as unsinful! Let me find my justification in His finished work alone, not just on the day of my “coming to faith” but every day as I come to faith again!
Through faith I look to you, promised Holy Spirit. Free me from all tendency toward benchmarks, measurements, and pride in my own high standards. Grant me the true righteousness of an open, transparent heart toward God and my brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
